The political situation in Ethiopia for the past 40 years is so dire that it is convincing that political parties operating by themselves cannot bring any democratic change in the country. People must participate in Social Movements to demand change independent of Political parties.
By conducting a well thought and coordinated social movement which is meant to mobilize large numbers of people it is possible to force the government to implement the needed changes.
Social Movements are peaceful in nature and have worked in other developed and underdeveloped countries showing that when people are united, even the most repressive government cannot cope with that pressure .
